Providence Point is sponsored by Baptist Homes, one of the most respected senior living providers in Western Pennsylvania.
For nearly 100 years, Baptist Homes Society, a not-for-profit charitable organization, been a compassionate source of support for citizens of all faiths in the greater South Hills community.
Baptist Homes Society, a continuing care retirement community, operates two separate campuses. Each campus provides a full continuum of care, including independent retirement living, wellness programming, personal care and assisted living, memory support, rehabilitative prorams, and skilled healthcare services. Baptist Homes, our Mt. Lebanon campus, serves nearly 300 older adults. Providence Point, our new campus in Scott Township, has the capacity to serve over 500 older adults.
March 26, 1910: Incorporated in West Newton, Pennsylvania by 11 Associations of Baptist Churches to assist widows and orphans
1915: Moved to Mt. Lebanon
1951: Added new residential wing and intermediate care residences
1964: Opened new nursing center
1972: Phased out orphanage ministry
1979: Added Baptist Manor, 100 HUD independent living apartments
1985: Added additional skilled nursing residences
2004: Announced
plans for Providence Point, a new LifeCare community
2005: Adopted Wellness Philosophy and opened new Wellness/Fitness Center
2006: Held groundbreaking for Providence Point on 32 acres of land at the intersection of Kane Boulevard and Green Commons Drive in Scott Township
2008: First residents moved into Providence Point patio homes
2009: Providence Point Commons and Apartments open for occupancy
